  • Maintain and build muscle mass

  • Improve posture and mobility

  • Increase tolerance to an upright position

  • Preserve range of motion and flexibility

  • Promote cardiovascular health

  • Improve circulation and blood pressure

  • Decrease medication reliance

  • Minimized pain

  • Increase in independence

  • Improved self esteem

  • Enhanced quality of life

Specialized treatment techniques are utilized to maximize neurorecovery and if medically appropriate can include the techniques below:

  • Return to walking with neurological physical therapy

    Return to Walking

Supported harness training allows individuals living with paralysis to repetitively practice stepping using body weight support. Initially, the participant is suspended in a harness over a treadmill or overground while specially trained physical therapists move his or her legs and body to simulate walking. As the person gains function, improvements in sitting, standing, reaching, or walking can occur.

  • neurological physical therapy and land-based training

    Land Based Training

One-on-one training with physical therapists focusing on increasing strength, endurance, flexibility, balance and coordination.

  • Functional Electrical Stimulation and neurological physical therapy

    Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES)

Electrical pulses are applied to paralyzed muscles to restore or improve their function. Restorative Therapies, RT300, arm/leg cycles are utilized at Revive. This allows us to create repetitive patterned movements in your arms, legs, and core to activate deconditioned or paralyzed muscles.

  • Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES)

Electrical pulses are applied to paralyzed muscles to create a task specific muscle response while increasing the excitability of the nervous system. Tasks are performed with stimulation and then without for improved carryover. Restorative Therapies XCite system is used which allows us to target up to 12 muscles at one time.

  • Vibration Plate

Utilized to help relax spasticity and tone or to excite the nervous system in preparation for exercise.
